We are routinely engaged as trial counsel—sometimes at the eleventh hour—in complex civil litigation matters (in addition to select federal criminal cases) throughout the country. We draw from our criminal prosecutor experience to provide highly effective trial representation, leveraging our clients’ existing pretrial preparations with our extensive and diverse trial experience. We have first-chaired over fifty jury and bench trials, including:
September 2024: first-chaired a federal criminal jury trial, defending birth-tourism fraud and money laundering charges (U.S. District Court for the Central District of California).
August 2024: obtained complete defense verdict for Mexico-based records production company in lawsuit over alleged unpaid commissions (Cal. Lab. Commission).
April 2024: first-chaired a partnership dissolution dispute (bench trial in the Los Angeles County Superior Court).
January 2024: first-chaired and obtained high six-figure award following arbitration against insurer (tried before Judicate West panel in Los Angeles).
September 2023: brought in as first-chair trial counsel with less than two weeks to trial; defended former company employee in breach of fiduciary duty claims in two-week bench trial (San Diego County Superior Court).
March 2023: first-chaired a federal civil RICO jury trial after defeating class claims (i.e., tried as to the individual claims only in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of California).
September 2022: first-chaired and defended a global recruiting company in a federal bench trial involving trade secret misappropriation claims (U.S. District Court for the Western District of Texas).
April 2022: first-chaired and defended a protein bar ingredient supplier in state court jury trial (Los Angeles County Superior Court).
February 2022: obtained six-figure verdict on behalf of a global sourcing, supply chain, and logistics company in a fraud and breach of contract trial (U.S. District Court for the Central District of California).

Complete defense verdict for major financial institution in California state court following a four-week jury trial in which the plaintiff sought $88 million for an alleged breach of fiduciary duty and aiding and abetting various wrongful conduct by third parties.
Award of $537 million and assets valued in excess of $1 billion in favor of a client on alter ego claims in a dispute involving a global family-owned energy company (Harris County, Texas District Court).
Complete defense award in arbitration for multinational manufacturer in arbitration brought by major customer seeking to avoid contractual purchase obligations.
