Kevin J. Cole, Esq.

Kevin Cole is the Founding and Managing Partner of KJC Law Group, A.P.C.  He has first-chaired over fifty jury and bench trials in state and federal courts throughout the country, involving a wide variety of complex legal issues with more than $100 million at stake.  Mr. Cole is also a former law clerk for Judge Eric L. Clay of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit—and he has so far prevailed in every appellate court proceeding he has pursued on behalf of an appellant (which includes TruConnect Communications v. Maximus, et al., Cal. Ct. App., 1st Dist. Case No. A163562; Dr. V Productions, Inc. v. Samantha Rey, Cal. Ct. App., 2nd Dist. Case No. B312605; Stein v. Black Diamond Supplements, LLC, Cal. Ct. App., 2nd Dist. Case No. B308482; and Morones v. Vega (In re Estate of Vega), Cal. Ct. App., 2nd Dist. Case No. B287748).

During his time with the firm, Mr. Cole has first-chaired several complex civil trials, including having secured a verdict for fraud and compensatory damages for a global sourcing, supply chain, and logistics company in Los Angeles federal court.  Among other recent accomplishments, Mr. Cole (i) obtained (in January 2025) a $2.7 million recovery in forfeiture proceedings in federal court in Missouri, (ii) negotiated a favorable settlement on behalf of multiple company defendants in a qui tam California False Claims Act suit brought by State Farm Insurance and numerous other insurers in a complex first-impression lawsuit in California state court, (iii) as plaintiff’s class counsel, obtained a $1.8 million classwide settlement—on behalf of 122 FBI counterterrorism and counter-espionage investigators—in Washington, D.C. federal court, and (iv) as plaintiff’s class counsel, obtained a $15 million classwide settlement in a TCPA class action in Florida federal court.  Mr. Cole has also defeated several class action lawsuits in various federal courts (including defeating class claims in a federal court RICO class action, obtaining dismissals in numerous federal TCPA class actions throughout the country, and obtaining a dismissal without leave to amend in a California state court deceptive pricing class action alleging mislabeling of THC potency).

Prior to KJC Law Group, Mr. Cole served a one-year clerkship with Judge Eric L. Clay of the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit.  Mr. Cole then litigated complex civil litigations and appeals at the international law firm of Greenberg Traurig, LLP (in Los Angeles), handling matters including class action defense for global and multinational corporations.  Also at Greenberg Traurig, Mr. Cole was part of trial teams that obtained a complete defense verdict for a major financial institution in California state court following a four-week jury trial in which the plaintiffs (two foreign billionaires) sought $88 million; and another trial that awarded $537 million and assets valued in excess of $1 billion in favor of a firm client on alter ego claims in a dispute involving a global family-owned energy company.

Before Greenberg Traurig, Mr. Cole was a criminal prosecutor.  As a prosecutor, Mr. Cole prosecuted and tried numerous criminal cases involving violent crimes (including murder) and narcotics.

When he is not in a courtroom, Mr. Cole spends time with his beautiful wife, daughter, and German Shepherd (Tazer).  He is also a reserve deputy sheriff and a board member of the Crimes Against Children Foundation, Inc.
